Tax auction, liens, evictions

Michael Ware
Posted

Does anyone have experience with tax auctions? I want to attend one late Feb but I’m worried of the eviction process in CA and other liens on the property (Both I have no information on yet). Can someone point me in the right direction?

@Michael Ware If the tax auction is in California you’d be buying a tax deed, not a tax lien. (There are no tax lien auctions in California.)

As for your question about how junior liens are handled, the property would be conveyed to the purchaser free of all mortgage liens at a tax deed auction.
