BOA Note purchase? or short sale?

I've ran into walls dealing with BOA in attempting to purchase a specific property note. The general concensus is they don't sell their paper. Has anyone had any different experiences?

If that's true, I'll pursue the short sale route. What are you getting as a discount these days?
