Appeal Assessed Value
I'm about to close on my first house in 19139 and the Assessed value of the house jumped up from $68,000 to $110,000. Is this normal? I purchased it for a little above assessed value, should I appeal it? If I were to appeal, would I need to hire an attorney?

@Rushi Jhaveri here in the Pittsburgh market specifically Allegheny County you can appeal your tax assessment once a year. usually if you purchased recently at well under the assessed value then you will win the appeal. Some school district and municipalities will give you resistance and you may need to appeal the decision. Here you dont need to hire an attorney although its best to hire or at least get some help from somoen who has done it and knows the process
