Has anyone ever gone to a sheriffs sale in Galveston?

I'd pay to have you help me understand how this works and what the heck does "struck off" mean?

I have a lot of questions about them like do you have to wait two years to fix them up and sell them because of the redemption period?

Any advise would be much appreciated
