Kitchen redo in Portsmouth

I'm looking to redo a kitchen in a single family home in Portsmouth. I need a contractor who can also replan the layout, not just update what is there. The size is a bit awkward (think: looks big enough for an island but is actually just too small to logistically have one). I would also like to purchase used appliances from the place on High st (I'm blanking on the name). Pretty much, I want to make it look nice without spending nice prices.... like everyone else, I know. I have had terrible luck with contractors in the past (roofers, masons, fence contractors), so I turn to you BiggerPockets, who have you had luck with?
