New Guy from Philadelphia Area

Hello, everyone my name is Patrick Kalish. I am new to the field of real estate investing and looking to start off my portfolio with a House Hacking strategy.

A little bit about myself. I am 25 and recently got a job in the financial industry. Graduated from Lycoming College in 2014 and worked with Ritz Craft a modular home manufacturer for two years. I am basically interested in anything that deals with the outdoors, fly fishing especially.

I am in the process of investing in my first property a duplex/triplex and live in one unit and rent the others.

Interested in developing new relationships in the greater Philadelphia area.

Any ideas on meet ups, strong areas of development, real estate agents, and any other pertinent information for a new investor is greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to forming strong relationships and starting a real estate business in the Philadelphia area.

Thanks!

@Patrick Kalish, welcome to BP.

Vanguard or SEI? ;-)

As mentioned, DIG is a great resource and the website might seem like you are trying to drink from a firehose at first. I would strongly recommend attending a Chester-Montgomery (ChesMont) sub-group meeting. There are many seasoned pros like @Steve Babiak, who volunteer their time.

On Dec 14th 2016 the sub-group will be visiting a rehab to check on the progress since the previous visit in Sept.
