I was wondering as a real estate investor and an architectural designer

-How often do you get permits for repairs and changes?

-When you do get them what type of work do you commonly get them for?

I’m looking for clients and want to know where to put my energy

It’s law in Ontario for any electrical work to have a permit applied for, even if performed by a home owner. The Electrical Safety Authority has more information regarding this at www.esasafe.com.

@Thomas S. I guess the changes made by a flipper and landlord are usually vastly different? I’m doing permit drawings for basement egress windows in one of my student rentals and was wondering if fixes like this were common or is it all paint cabinets and flooring?

On my own things, i get permits for structural changes, even adding covered patios, etc.

That is really a complicated question. It depends on what work is being done, who is doing it and who is the client.
