Loved the book. Hate what the organization has become.

I attended a local free session a while back, which funnels you into a paid three-day session for about $600. I attended the 3-day (well, 2 1/2 days anyway before I got up and walked out!).

The 3-day session has a few nuggets of good info sprinkled in here and there, but is ultimately designed to get you to sign up for "advanced training" to the tune of about $9k per course, or a $40k "special offer" on a bundle of courses.

See this thread: https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/79/topics/185...

The afternoon of day 2 focuses on how to manipulate your credit score by raising your credit card limits, and the homework for day 2 is to see how high you can get your credit card limits raised. They also have "special preferred lenders" in the back of the room who are doing nothing but helping people apply for crowdfunded loans on Prosper.

Then day 3 is nothing but a strong-arm hard sell on the $40k training bundle (and people were lining up to sign up for it!).

They are truly masterful at their sales techniques and it was fascinating, if sad, to watch!

You can get the exact same training modules from Cody Sperber et al, or from a few good REI books, for less than $200. Or for free here on Bigger Pockets!

In my opinion and experience, save your money and invest in some of these cheaper/free training options, and your real estate license (which has the added bonus of providing and income stream!).
