HomeSnap App for comps?

Question

So there’s an App out there called HomeSnap and I’m wondering if anyone uses it for comps?

If so, do you know how legit they are?

Hi, I have used homesnap for this. I would recommend trying to run a conventional CMA and compare it to the homesnap CMA to see where they differ. Homesnap does have some useful info on schools and boundaries as well.

@Benjamin Blackburn I see Homesnap changing their estimate faster than the likes of Zillow or Trulia. Doesn't mean they're more accurate, and it could mean they have less variables that cause quicker changes. I take these companies' estimates and their tendencies into consideration when determining comps.

My thoughts about it are pretty similar to yours @Edward B.

I'm going to continue to use it just like you use the others... To get estimated values.

I'm not sure what you mean by "legit".

If you are asking if their estimated value is accurate I would say that it is as accurate as Zillow or Trulia or any of the other sites like that. Which is to say anywhere from kinda accurate to not even close.

If you are asking if they are a "legit" company then I would say they are as legitimate as Zillow or Trulia or any of the other companies like that.

I do use all of those sites to get estimates of value in markets that I am not familiar with but I take all of them with a grain of salt and attempt to see what they are using for comps to decide for myself what an accurate value is.
