Rental Market in STL

Hi there

I’ve been lurking on BiggerPockets for a long time but never posted. I’m finally in a spot where I’m able to buy my first rental and I’m super excited but nervous at the same time.

I live in western WA and unfortunately houses are pretty expensive here. Considering that, I’ve been thinking of doing out of state. I’ve been looking at Ohio, Georgia, Indiana, and Missouri online on Zillow to look at listings and have recently thought of the STL area as having potential. Unfortunately, even though I’ve been to STL a few times, I do not have intimate knowledge of the neighbourhoods or suburbs.

Anyone on here who would be willing to connect or comment?

Thank you!

Haha, lurking! Congratulations on having enough saved to take the next step. Not a bad idea for out of state investing if your market is expensive. "Long Distance Real Estate Investing" by David Mason is a great book in the meantime while you search!
