Most original lenders have sold these loans to junk rating banks for a fraction of the original loan. Then they turn around sell to other lenders. Records, balances are not always transferred. I am aware of several borrowers they get letters from past or current lenders over 10 years. They are so used to a default letter packages, and auction notices. Some have no door bell, address number removed. They are like seasoned squatters staying there free uninterested to talk to any strangers.  Some filed bankruptcy protection if there is an impending auction.
