Hello,
I am a senior in high school interested in real estate investing. I have been exploring this topic for over one year now and I'm looking for people to connect with in the Michigan area to discuss and share ideas. I'm very motivated and committed in this field as my parents were doing it too when I was younger. I haven't set my foot in property yet, but I'm trying to learn from others. I can provide a lot, whatever you need I'm at your service.

Hi Ronald. Have you tried going to a Meetup to network with people yet? What kind of real estate investing do you want to do?

Welcome to the real estate world. There are meet up events happening almost every week in the metro Detroit area. There is one this Thursday in Troy as well.
Networking can give you the opportunity to meet people in a similar mindset

I've been looking for meetups and was thinking to go to some in Ohio. I haven't found any in Detroit, or maybe I'm bad at searching. I'm interested in multifamily, such as small apartments. I've been trying to get my way into wholesale by becoming an expert at finding the best deals, but I heard it's hard to get in to.

Thanks for the response. Do you know any ways I can keep up and find these events? Thanks!

Single family and multifamily is probably what I'm looking at now.

@Ronald P. If you're looking to get into investing in Detroit, there's the renegade group : https://renegadedetroit.com/meetings/
There's also a group in Oakland County: https://www.michiganrealestateinvestors.com/
as well as Macomb: http://reiaofmacomb.com/
And if you're on Facebook, there's this group as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MetroDetroitRealEstateInvestorsGroup/?ref=bookmarks
Have you taken any action towards finding a wholesale deal yet?

I've searched and I've been looking a lot recently, though the websites don't really have too much information about the expenses and such. Usually I want to verify them with the owner, but I never get that far.

@Ronald P. Come to Renegade Detroit’s meetup. It’s free at Shield’s Pizza from 6-8 the first Tues of every month. Plenty of investors willing to answer questions. Also, it might benefit you to get a real estate license when you’re 18. Try Real Estate One. They have a Groupon for $100 and they were really thorough when I got my license. Passed my test on the first try without any issues. Good luck!
