Providence Rhode Island

Posted

Hi All

First time posting on Bigger Pockets so bare with me!!
Myself and my partner are looking at investing in rental properties in her home town of Providence RI. We both currently live out of country at the moment and not being from Providence myself I am unfamiliar with the market.

We are ideally looking for Multi Family units however we are pretty flexible on budget and house type so long as we can maximize our ROI. Looking to steadily build a portfolio of properties over the coming years.

If anyone can recommend any specific areas to research further or suggest any realtors/brokers we should work with, any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ryan

Congrats on taking the first plunge and reaching out! @William Stevenson

I myself have been looking in Providence for multi's and Anthony put it well, there is a large amount of neighborhoods in Prov, and not all of them are where people would want to put their money due to things like crime rates, not good school system, ect. The neighborhood you buy in is going to attract certain tenants, then there is your housing types.

If you're just getting started you will learn all this with town, but if you're dead set on out of state investing to be your starting point, personally I would look in the south or mid west because you get more bang for your buck!

Either way! Welcome and if you have any questions, comments, concerns, let me know.
