Hello BP,

I encounter a situation where I am purchasing a piece of land from someone who Spouse passed away. The county instructed me to provide them original death certificate and to remove the decease from the Deed. I am also required to submit an affidavit of continuous marriage. Does anyone know if there is a specific requirement in Florida for this type of document? What must I include or keep out? From researching on the internet it seems like there is no specific standard. I want to see if any of you have encounter this situation particularly in florida and how you went about it?

@Enrique Reyes As I said, if you google "continuous marriage affidavit" (with quotes), the 5th or 6th result is a copy of one.  But perhaps more importantly, since you insist on DIY......your title insurance co. didn't catch this, so I'm guessing you had no title search done.....that can be suicidal.....other than over due property taxes, there can be all kinds of issues you're not aware of.
