Should I bring a contractor?

Hey BP, so I've ran the numbers on a duplex, it will definitely need to be rehabbed but I don't know how much being the fact I'm very new (this will be my first property). Would you suggest paying a contractor to come view the property with me to get an idea? Or do I need to put it under contract first? Then have the inspection done, then bring in the contractor?
