Investing in a house with a pool

What are the advantage and disadvantage of buying a house with a pool in Houston Texas ? Found a house and got an offer accepted for $20k under asking price, past inspection and not big issues. Does the value of a house with a pool increase at a similar rate to a house without it? How hard is to sell or rent a house with a pool? Any feedback is appreciated

@Alvaro Rodriguez

 We manage quite a few houses for people with pools. What we suggest is that the owner continue to cover the cost of the pool weekly keep up so that there’s no lapse or damage to the pool pumps motors or the pool itself

You can include that in the cost of the rental so it will not be an added cost to you the owner.

Remember that not everyone wants a pool, so you could potentially lose renters because they do not want a pool to deal with.

I think there are enough people in the market that will want a pool so I do not see that as a detractor.

 Main thing is establishing who is responsible for the maintenance and repair which I would suggest is you as well as making sure that your insurance policy is accurately covered for a tenant with a pool
