“FOR THE LOVE” Buyer Love Letters to Sellers

I don’t know how/if I can post a photo but I just saw the following in showing instructions, and had to share (picture proof available, copied verbatim):

LOCKBOX:

Supra/front door- how easy is that?!

SHOWING INSTRUCTIONS: Go direct! Send offers to: xxxxxxx

DO NOT INCLUDE A STUPID LETTER WITH STUPID FAMILY PHOTOS OF YOUR BUYERS SHOWING OFF HOW CUTE THEY LOOK. The seller has NO PROBLEM selling this house to ugly people. If you must include a buyer photo FOR THE LOVE -take a cute picture of their bank account balance and credit score. Agent has financial interest in the property.

Hope this makes you smile - although you really have to see the full MLS data sheet to give this man justice.

He has a point. What are we doing with these letters?! I’ve decided they could be used as ways to discriminate against fair housing and will not include them with my offers anymore. I used to be a very big believer in them and I am no longer! This is not what real estate’s about. Photos and love letters? No this is about generational wealth folks.

Those letters were always about proving the buyer was white.
