Screening for a new property that I am buying

Hi,  Can anyone give me a sense of what you do when acquiring a property with existing long-term tenants? I am acquiring a four-unit property all of which has existing tenants who have indicated they want to stay. Do I do credit checks and verify employment, etc?

Thanks for any guidance!
