Best way to Screen tenants?

I have 7 doors, and I wanted to get some ideas on a better way to screen for tenants. Currently I’m using Zillow’s background check, and I’m screening all my  tenants  before they sign a lease. I’m having issues with people being able to fill out applications on Zillow. I’d love to get some thoughts and opinions on a different option. Or a better way to optimize Zillow.

We switched to Innago several months ago, and it has been great. Also, it's free! It has multiple screening options, and the ability to send leases and invoices digitally. So less time going and meeting tenants. Very handy when you start to get more doors.

I have a 3 party who I have used since day one $45.00 to do background  so far so good couple bumps nothing too big .Last place they lived is BIG make sure you don't skip any thing that should be done .When they are serous take a picture of the DL of all folks on the rental just like a apartment would do .

Different strokes for different folks. I use professional software, but I know a lot of people that use TransUnion Smart Move and are happy with it.

Good advice here - I also use a separate form to get their SSN. This is necessary to be able to garnish tax refunds in the event that you have to evict and get a judgement for non payment of rent. Garnishing tax refunds is much more likely to get you money than trying to garnish wages.

I did some more research and it loks like I was wrong about landlords being able to garnish tax refunds.
