Best way to Screen tenants?

I have 7 doors, and I wanted to get some ideas on a better way to screen for tenants. Currently I’m using Zillow’s background check, and I’m screening all my  tenants  before they sign a lease. I’m having issues with people being able to fill out applications on Zillow. I’d love to get some thoughts and opinions on a different option. Or a better way to optimize Zillow.

I use zillow and have been happy with it for background checks. I have also used apartments.com (for some of my SFH), I prefer zillow. e-renter.com does a good job if you just want the background check and none of the other services.
