Verify Identity and preventing fraud!

I am becomming more and more concerned with fraud.  The last rental I posted, I had a woman apply and found out she had stolen someone’s identity when I was working through the background.  I found out when I decided to email her a question at work as a way to verify her identity.  Lucky I did as the poor person who responded confirmed that her identity was stolen.

I have another rental and a prospective tenant and want to see if there is a way I can verify her identity.  Looking for others to share how they verifiy identities and confirm drivers license provided are real and not forged.
