New Tenant's ID

Dana Jordan
Posted

Hi,

Is there any reason to copy/check a prospective tenant's ID beyond verifying that they are who they say they are? I have matched both tenants to their Facebook page (not new pages) and their photos on their work websites. Is there any other reason to see their IDs? Thanks!

You will need their ID if things go sideways and you need to put them into collections. It is always good to have a copy of their government issued ID so that you know who you are renting to. The background check asks for them to upload it also.
