Marketing Letter Opinions/Examples

Hello all, I'm currently holding up sending a direct mail letter because I'm struggling with the style of the letter.  I'm looking to send a letter that is professional because i'm an agent in a smaller town where I'm well known, but I also want to offer to buy their house and suggest there are other options as well.

I'm not comfortable doing the typical yellow letter style mailer/postcard, I know many people get results with those but I'm uncomfortable associating my brand and myself with that style of marketing in my small town.

I've read on BP many people that have simply sent a professional letter and had great results.  Is anyone willing to share privately?  I'm more than happy to exchange sample letters.  Is it not ok to be professional and leave out all the "SALE SALE SALE FAST FOR CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"?

I do not think I have much if any competition in my town.  Any and all advice is appreciated.  Thanks.

The type of letter you decide to send out largely depends on personal preference, though in some cases after you test your targeted area you will find that one type of letter works better than others. However, it can be different in every market, so testing is super important!

The professional, typed letters seem to get an average response rate similar to the yellow letters. We've found over the years that they have an average response of 7%-8%. Plus, with typed letters, it looks better to have a logo or photo included, thus incorporating your professional title in a more functional and aesthetically pleasing manor. I also think you are on the right track by putting yourself in the recipient's shoes and thinking about what YOU would respond to. Great first steps. So, if you haven't already, give them a go!
