Vacant homes

so I did some driving for dollars and located couple vacant homes, got the address and looked it up on public tax records and got the owners name and grabbed the phone books and called the names that were almost matching, could not find the exact name off the phone book to the name on the tax records no one answered so left voicemails, it's been a week and no one got back to me yet,  Decided to try and talk with some neighbors and it seams like no one knows who or how to get in touch with the owner? Is there any other way in trying to get in touch with the owners of the property? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance.
