Does listsource actually work ..

How good/ accurate are websites like listsource that you can buy different lists from the market to? Because I briefly pulled up one of those sites, I think it was listsource, and put in my criteria for absentee owners. Before purchasing the list it asked me if there were any addresses that I would want to exclude. So I went and looked at some of the addresses and typed them into my local tax assessor office and not only did some of the not come up as being homestead and not absentee, some addresses it gave me were far from the 1 mile radius that I chose initially. Makes it seem like the lists are loaded with random addresses or I typed in something very wrong. Anyone else notice anything like this?
