Marketing Idea:Mass Text Blast?

Question

I know sms marketing is becoming bigger and bigger lately so I recently found a site that provides all cell phone numbers in 1 area code for $250... Now that's JUST the numbers since it is illegal to give any more info without someone to subscribe to something.

Is it a smart choice to buy that list and mass blast a text / voicemail drop asking if they are looking to sell (or offer a referal fee for anyone looking to sell... Or since thats a bit too sales-y I'd have to think of other opening statements that grabs attention)
Not too focused on the wording I would use at this moment but is it a smart choice to blast that?

Hi @Leah Bonner,

Brutally honest I think it may be more trouble than worth. Couple reasons:

1) The board could go after for brokering possibly depending on your wording (You can't give referral fees on real estate transactions to unlicensed people so it may come back to bite you)

2) A few people will put your phone number on those spam sites. So when someone looks it up later (even a valid lead) they think you are a spammer and don't answer.

3) The responses to "remove me" will have to be maintained or it could come back on you.

Just my 2 cents and good luck with whatever you decide.
