How do I fix Craiglist Hold on account?

Hey,

I now have two accounts on hold at CL I am wondering how do I set up other accounts? Do I need to change my ISP or how do I continue to use CL? I have a dynamic isp address. Just looking for a solution.

How about stopping doing whatever it is that is getting your accounts on hold?  Will that work?

Nick you need to wait a while before making any new accounts under that IP.  A few days should be enough.  Of course you cant spam up their servers when you get back in.

Unless you can post on another IP easily.  For instance if someone has an unsecured wireless network you could jump on or something.

The people who are spamming the heck out of CL are using 2 methods that I studied when I once aspired to be a CL spammer.  But I doubt it still works.  CL is constantly fighting back against the spam that clogs their servers, so to be proficient you constantly have to adjust what you are doing.

I know I might sound like spam but there are services that you can pay for that will post ads on your behalf, and these guys use proxies, with phone verified accounts. I used them a while back for some client work (plumber) and they got alot of business for my client. I'm sure it could help you out.

I couldn't even land a decent paid proxy service.  I would love to have about 6 of them.  I have 3 IP addresses at home to switch around, but thats nowhere as good as a relaible proxy server.

Whatever you do, if its successful do not put your strategy on a public forum.  Otherwise they will find a way to counter, as they have done so many times in the past.

I got one of my accounts placed on hold.  There is nothing that you can do about it.  If you actually get an answer, I've never gotten one.

Without warning my account was permanently disabled.

I did some searching for other marketers who had been "on hold." The end result is move on with a new account.

Mine was phone verified too, I had been using it for at least 7 years.  Recently I had to reverify it, but now it's dead period.

I had to create another account, phone verify it to a new phone.  I try only to post 3-4 houses a day with it. . .in the same general area, like the same state.

For a while I was using a great proxy, but now it won't work with the captcha script.

I do have a proxy that works (but it's not free), and I keep the postings in the same state for the account.

CL keeps changing the rules it seems.

I dont know about you guys, but I am posting a property for sale in multiple cities under one account with no problem.

Perhaps your problem was with posting in the real estate or financial services sections?  Those services sections can be tougher for sure.  With phone verification and all it really would suck to lose those accounts.

I'd definitely say write to them about it. Any chance your accounts were hacked into by anyone else? Also, it seems to me that they've been cleaning ship lately, with more changes in the past few months than in years previous, so if you were doing something that violated their terms, like posting to many different cities, maybe they just caught onto you?

If you really need to post, you can try going through an IP Proxy.  These are widely available online.
