How do private investors get compensated

I’m not sure this is in the right section, but when I find investors, what is a common payment structure? Is it a percent of investment amount? Or is a percent of profit involved. I’m not sure how to structure the deals. Thanks!

From the question you are nowhere near this stage but most private deals are going to be for financing only.  If you manage to find a partner who will put up half the money and you put up the other half that is much more likely to be an equity split.
