What are your thoughts on Westcherster and Putnam county markets?

Hi community, we are a family of four with two toddlers living in California and are considering moving to NY to be closer to family.

The grandparents are in Manhattan and Hudson so we are considering Westchester or Putnam counties to move into and invest.

What are your thoughts on the real estate market in these areas?

It is not about markets. It is about Motivation. It doesn't matter what market you are targeting. I keep seeing people asking about markets. And it has NOTHING to do with markets. You aren ot targeting markets. You are targeting people. Motivated people. You need to understand that there is no such thing as "competition". Do you honestly believe I have competition?

Do not confuse "other people in your market" with "competition". Competition is an illusion. There is only competition if you are as bad (or as good) as what is currently on the market, and BELIEVE me when I say, Investors are known to be useless, lazy never used their intelligence a day in their lives.

You come in with half a brain and you friggin WIPE them clean.

Just to prove this, I created a city page in NY Westchester and within 2 hours I took the #1 spot and the leads I get through that page.. I simply throw away.

@Juan Catano, both are good markets, but high entry price and taxes make it tough for cash-flow.  If you're looking at flipping, that may be a better avenue, as those markets are hot right now for people looking to move out of the city.
