18-Year-Old SDSU Student Looking to Get Started in Real Estate

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a student at San Diego State University and have become very interested in real estate investing, property management, and rental properties.

My long-term goal is to build cash flow through real estate, but right now I'm focused on learning the business and gaining experience. Since I don't own property yet, I'm interested in helping local investors, landlords, Airbnb hosts, or property managers with tasks such as guest communication, tenant communication, leasing assistance, showings, scheduling, and other day-to-day operations.

For those who started young, what would you recommend as the best way to break into the industry? Are there specific skills, opportunities, or types of roles I should focus on first?

I'd also love to connect with anyone in the San Diego area who is active in rentals, property management, or short-term rentals.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
