I have a Section 8 tenant who was placed by a previous property management company. This tenant would never have passed my screening criteria, but it is my problem now since I am self managing. 

I learned today from a contractor that the tenant has 4 dogs (one pit bull, one doberman, and two mixed breeds), plus 6-7 cats. He reports that the house has feces everywhere, and that the odor is horrible. 

I was already ramping up to sell the property, but due to the laws in Chicago, I have a 120 day notice period. Given the egregious violations of the rental agreement, I need assistance in working through the process of removing the tenant while minimizing any additional damage to the property. Given that the tenant is on Section 8, I have no hope of recouping any damages from them.

How to Find an Experienced Landlord-Tenant Attorney

Go to website of your local court.

Look up Landlord Tenant cases. 
- Often these are abbreviated "LT".

Check out the court docket, which usually list the plaintiffs, defendants and attorneys for each case. 

You'll want to focus on attorneys for plaintiffs that appear to be landlords.

Usually, there be a few attorneys that repeatedly show up - these are the attorneys who specialize in Landlord-Tenant cases.

They will be the most experienced and charge the best prices as they have economies of scale.

Google their names to find their contact info.

NOTE: Some will not deal with DIY landlords as they don't like wasting their time with all the "hand-holding" many DIYers want.
