Columbus, OH - Pass HOA to Tenants?

What is the norm in Columbus, OH rental market? Are renters typically paying HOA or is the owner holding on to that?

i paid my HOA. I tagged in the cost to my renter's rent. You want to pay your HOA to prevent any current/future problems. If your HOa is neglected, it can cause come serious problems such additional fees / fines (and it will be bigger than you think!). And if your HOA accumulates higher fees each year, keep tagging the fees into your renter's rent.

I do not have any condo rentals here in Columbus, Ohio but I would assume that the owner would pay that and just build it into the gross rent of the tenant.

You would trust a tenant to pay your hoa fees? And when they decide not to the association will slap a lean on your property so fast..,

Generally the norm is to just pay their monthly rent, charge accordingly!

Thanks all! I'm glad I asked - here in CA as a renter its pretty common to pay rent and also be on the hook for the HOA as a separate payment. Totally makes sense that you would just model this into the rent price to avoid any issues with missed payments and resulting issues.

Similar to water and property taxes, you’ll want to cover those and pass it on to tenant in form of rent to mitigate liens and late payments. But I’m sure some landlords could have tenant pay HOA too if they trust them to not default...
