Lease question....inherited tenants

Marcia Gourley
Posted

I’ll have inherited tenants on a duplex that will close soon. They currently don’t pay for trash, mowing or snow removal. Their leases are up in about 6 months, at which time I will have them sign new leases adding those expenses.

Can I change, modify or add addendums to the current leases that will allow me to add these costs now, or must I wait until the lease expires? I’m in Ohio.
