Buying my first property

Hi everybody. I am in a position to buy my first property. I am torn between whether I should buy it and rent it out as a rental property, or buy it as a place for me to live in. Thoughts?

Do both. Buy a multifamily property and live in one unit and rent out the unoccupied unit(s).
