If you’re living nearly free but not cash flowing,
Do you still consider that a successful house hack?

Curious how others define success.

Depends on where the RE is located and where you are in your life and career. Early on when I was buying the worst house on richest block often came with unimpressive cash flow but excellent occupancy and near guaranteed appreciation so for me at that time it was a win.
