Buisness idea that id like your feedback on
Hi everyone,
I’m located in Gouldsboro, PA (Poconos area — Big Bass Lake, Pocono Springs, and surrounding communities). I’ve been cleaning Airbnbs for the past 5 years and have kept the same clients for the last 3 years, all with consistent 5.0 ratings.
I love the work, but I’ve noticed a clear struggle in this area: many hosts have a hard time finding reliable cleaners. Some cleaners are simply not good at the job, others are switching over from residential cleaning and don’t fully understand short-term rental standards, and some aren’t paid well enough to put in the extra effort required for fast, high-quality turnovers.
I’m launching a solo business focused on two things:
- Independent post-clean inspections – I go into the property after the cleaner finishes and provide detailed documentation (photos, videos, and checklists). The report shows exactly what was done well, what still needs attention, and tracks when deeper cleans should be scheduled.
- On-site cleaner training – I train cleaners at the actual property so they learn what to focus on for fast, consistent turnovers across different home styles (I’ve worked extensively with both luxury and family-centered properties). This includes staging, inventory, common missed spots, and the details that protect 5-star reviews.
I’ve seen how small things — dust under the bed, crumbs in the silverware drawer, or overlooked corners — can drop a cleanliness score and make it hard to get back to a solid 5.0. A lot of cleaners simply haven’t been properly trained on what short-term rental guests and algorithms actually notice.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea. Do you currently struggle with finding or keeping good cleaners? Would an independent inspection + on-site training service be useful to you or other hosts you know?
Happy to answer any questions in more detail. Thanks so much!
