House Hacking a Rural Property

Matthew Eaton
Posted

Hello,

I'm a new investor looking to do my first house hack. I found a place about 20-25 minutes outside the city that hits my target returns in theory, but I am unsure of how difficult it would be to find tenants. I would be running this as a rent by the room. Does anyone have experience/advice in this area?

Thanks!

Hi @Matthew Eaton, I would connect with a local investor-friendly realtor. They would be your best resource.

It also depends on what is in the city. If there is a college or a lot of younger people, you should not have an issue.

If the average age is 65, you might have trouble finding tenants.

Hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
