Pros/Cons of property with a Septic Tank

Hi all, 

I am looking for my first house hacking property and I believe I found one a duplex that will work. The property has a  septic tank and I was hoping to get some information on the pros/cons of it. I do not know how old it is but I am getting that question answered.

I've owned several properties with them and they are not a big deal at all. I prefer them to be honest because you control your sewage. Just get it cleaned and inspected.

The only downside is if it is in poor condition, the cost to replace tank and leach field can be enormous ($15kish). With a duplex you will have more bedrooms and the size of the tank and field are determined by bedrooms, not bathrooms...
