Thoughts on duplex split by floors? First story Unit A and 2nd Story Unit B

David Rodriguez
Posted

I found a potential house hacking house for myself. I usually see duplexes split vertically (Left and right) but this property is splits its units horizantally (1st floor, 2nd floor). Any thoughts on this? Is this a big negative? Does not matter?

What David said it's a great point. I have had clients do this but they always take the top unit because sometimes the upstairs tenants can be really loud. Other than that I don't think it really matters. Just make sure to have designated parking.
