House hack deal question

Keith Kakadia
Posted

Im looking to purchase a house that has a downstairs already furnished. The deal is about 340K and im looking to put 20% down -- Will rent out the bottom unit for long term lease around 1500 and then padsplit upstairs 1 room for 800 a month and I stay in the other room. What should I be considering here? Is this a good deal overall

With any house hack property, you want to make sure it saves you money when you live there AND it can cash flow upon you leaving. If it checks both those boxes, then go for it
