Getting Started as a 22 year old

Samuel Bessell
Posted

Hi all, I am 22 years old and just got done reading the book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. It was a great book and I am reaching out on how I can get started. I already started saving and I am looking for a duplex/triplex situation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam

Self-educate as much as possible. Don't invest in anything you aren't knowledgeable about. That does not mean read all the books on rental property investing and nothing else.

That means: Read, network, go to your local REIA meetings, start underwriting deals, ASK QUESTIONS. This is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Be a sponge.

Too many people on this forum say they want to start investing, get interested in a month, and we don't hear from them again. Take it from me - go to my profile and look at my first post. I stayed in Big 4 Real Estate audit for 3 years too long (started when I was 22) before taking the jump and chasing the dream I had out of college.
