Single Family to Duplex Conversion

Hello. Does anybody know the process for converting a single family into a duplex? Specifically for west valley is even better. Basement is already a functioning MIL apartment with separate entrance. Asking for licensing advice if anyone has experience with this.

Parker, first thing to check is local zoning. Many single family homes cannot legally be converted to a duplex unless the zoning allows two units or you obtain a variance. Contact your local planning/zoning department to find out what West Valley allows.
