Is DFW a good market for MTR?

Question

I want to start investing in real estate, but no clue where to start. I am based in the DFW, is any of our cities good for MTR or should I look in other areas?

@Daniel Colon   Sounds like a good strategy, but I think you really have to watch what rates you think you can get, what your expenses will be, and #1 what your vacancy rates might be.   Vacancy can kill your returns.

I think you also have to watch the big boys like Hilton and Marriott who to me are already in the space, but now have groups where it is their primary focus.

Also some of the traditional tenants are cutting back.  Hospitals and medical facilities now in big cost cutting modes...so trying their best to cut back on travellers...and cutting housing costs for travellers.  When you look at the sites like furnished finders there seems to be a fairly big disconnect between what travellers want to pay and what owners want to charge.

Not saying there is not money to be made, but I think you really have to be at the top of your game to make it work.  Tough for it to be a casual business.
