House Hacking is Hard

Andy Oshodi
Posted

I am new to REI. I am finding it really hard to house hack with mid term rentals in the Houston market. The neighborhoods close to the medical center area are not good neighborhoods. My family cannot live around there. I have a little bit of nest egg. Should I just buy a single family home(because I presently still rent) and just find other locations for mid term rentals?

Please help

@Andy Oshodi the REI business is hard but house hacking is one of the easiest most powerful strategies out there. Can you STR or LTR a house hack? Can you get a single family and rent out one of the rooms?

My wife and I have a single-family home that we MTR. One bedroom room with an exterior door and no access to the rest of my house makes us between $500-1200 per month.
