MTR question about property management

Hello,

I'm very new to investing-- in the process of purchasing my first rental property now and mostly likely will do MTR-- the propertyy is really close to a hospital and relatively close to a Naval Station. I live about 3 1/2 hour drive from the property and will mostly likely list on Furnished Finders. For those of you that operate MTR and espceailly if you use FF-- do you also have a management company? It sounds like FF helps with the vetting and taking payment. I'm wondering if I can just hire cleaners and maybe have a handy person on call or something rather then utilizing a management company. Curious as to what others do

That's exactly what I do. I have a handy man on call and a cleaning lady who comes twice a month (+whenever a room gets vacant). I do the vetting myself, I interview potential tenants and get them through a background check .
