Seller not providing Estoppels

I am running into an issue for the first time where a seller and their attorney are pushing back on estoppels being signed prior to closing. Can anyone provide some insight and best way to handle this? Would hate for the deal to go south over something minor(but important given this is the only way to ensure there are no current issues with tenants). Thank you!
