Tax Set Aside

I have two rental homes in Jackson, MS.  Both properties are on one loan, and the mortgage carrier made an error and was only paying taxes on one property.  I was never notified, and my property was sold in a tax sale.  I now have to buy the deed back from an investment company.  Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
