You may try using a data source such as listability or listsource and buying a list of non owner occupied multi family for the areas your interested in. Then send them postcards, yellow letters, or hand written notes offering to buy their property. I have had success in finding off market properties like this. I typically get a 2-3% call back rate on postcards I send. Call back rate is higher if you take the time to hand write letters. Another option is networking with local wholesalers as they are constantly finding deals. All the best, Willie B

You might need a Realtor to do a search for you in your area. As a Realtor I can access the tax records and it tells me who owns the property not who resides there. It is a great resource. I have been doing searches for out of state owners lately and have not problems finding single family, condo (zero lot line), and multi family properties.

Hi, Does anyone have any knowledge on how to find the owners of multi-family units? P.s- when I search the name on my county tax assessor website property search, the current tenants name comes up.
