How does Wholesaling works?

Can anyone explain to me how wholesaling works? I've been doing research on it and I keep hearing its a good way for a "no money" deal. They make it sound easy. There's gotta be a catch by using this strategy. Can anything "bad" happen if you're not successful with wholesaling? Since you're not using any money.

Wholesaling is probably the hardest thing you can do lol you are better off saving up some $$$ and buy and flip or buy and hold.
