How do you notify your buyers list?

I am looking at a large list of opted in email addresses, and no phone numbers. Something tells me I should have squeezed some phone numbers instead of just emails here.

I am thinking of using Constant Contact for my email communications.

What types of contact do you have with your buyers? What do you find most effective? I know emails are easily passed over, and deleted.
