hand written Vs Simulated?

Question

Any one test real handwritten envelopes vs simulated handwritting? is there a difference in response?

I've tried both and the problem with simulated is well they look simulated.  As soon as someone notices that it isn't real ink it fails to become personal which is the whole reason to send handwritten in the first place.  I get a much better response with hw's and the cost is not much more anyhow.  I pay a stay at home mom .25 a piece to hand write the envelope, mailer and stuff and mail.

I haven't tested it but I always use handwritten whenever possible.  I've read in many places that handwritten envelopes will almost always get open more than simulated envelopes.

I know when I open my mailbox, if the envelope is handwritten, I will open it no matter what.  Not so with simulated.

Handwritten envelopes in blue ink.  the cheaper looking the better.

#1 rule - Signs that you actually put out work much better than signs sitting in your garage or basement.

Other than that you are talking small percentage point differences.

I'm a big fan of handwritten envelopes as well. Once I get the ball rolling with other projects, I would definitely love to experiment with this. Thanks for the idea, Ed!

I agree with Shane, handwritten by far is the best. I receive more calls hands down each mailout and I have tried both.

There are companies that will create a font of your handwriting http://www.fontsource.com/ 
I tried it some time back - just for fun. Never thought of it as a marketing ploy.
